FENDER CAGE NUTS...

I installed new 5/16-18 cage nuts along the top of the fender, I think there's 6-7 per side. Some how between paint shops they're either missing or strip out. We've had a few in place to adjust the fenders and hood. But I don't want to go back and take out the headlights and lose my fender adjustmen...

CONNECTING THE WIPER MOTOR...

I've looked everywhere to see which hydraulic goes to which port on the wiper motor. There's a pic in the parts book and another in the Shop Manual, but both are so small it doesn't give me a 100% yes. My guess is the hose via the hard/rubber line goes to the outside port. I'm assuming the wiper mot...

REAR BUMPER BOLTS...

I'm ready to install the rear bumper, but have a question regarding the diameter of the 4 bolts that attach the bumper brackets to the car. My bumper came with the serrated 3/16" thick large O.D. dome washers, but for 7/16" bolts. The car and bumper brackets will accept a 1/2" bolt. I...

Re: '65' FRONT BUMPER INSTALL...

Bblendo, that's a great way to attach the front bumper with full control... You had mounted your fenders before the bumper o4 they were already attached

'65' FRONT BUMPER INSTALL...

I thought it might be safer (less scratched paint) if you/me installed the bumper before installing the fenders. The front bumper is massive, while the fenders are not.

I'd appreciate any suggestions good or bad on the idea...

Thanks,

Mitch

Re: UPPER CONTROL ARM ZERK...

Then that is probably what happen to mine... You win the crochet' bathtub award... I think I'll clean up the hole and add a neoprene flap to try and keep the engine room from getting any more dirty...

Re: UPPER CONTROL ARM ZERK...

I like zero issues... they're already attached so I'll give it a whirl with them in place. Stan Johnson who deals only in Ford headers assures me that the engine will install with the headers. The headers have a 3/8" base plate so he only recommends the need for 2 bolts per header pipe. Stay tu...

Re: UPPER CONTROL ARM ZERK...

I've thought a lot about it... Since the car was apart I used the motor mount on the car and compared that with the same motor mount location on the engine. I should have a 1/2"clearance between the fans and pulleys. Then will the radiator install with the fan package or will I have to break it...

Re: UPPER CONTROL ARM ZERK...

I wish I had an answer to why the P.O. installed the motor mounts that I have. The support for the motor mount has a welded base so since they work I'm not messing with them. Hopefully, my Stan Johnson headers will be happy with them as well.

Re: UPPER CONTROL ARM ZERK...

The car has a C6, it's set up for those motor mounts, the P.O. installed them when he redid the engine and trans... If they work, are there other issues?

Thanks,

Re: UPPER CONTROL ARM ZERK...

The car has never been hit and there's a frame over the hole that has been spot welded so that has to be "factory''. Also, the upper control has to align with the lower control arm which it does. The picture and orange circle replied by Privateer shows a wrinkling in the fabrication of the shoc...

Hmm, my '65' on one side has no room for even a 90 degree zerk... I'll take some pics and repost tomorrow...

UPPER CONTROL ARM ZERK...

I'm assembling my suspension and noted there's no room for a 90-degree zerk fitting, then later noted that someone had taken a can opener to the shock tower to gain access... Pretty ugly. The right side had an opening for servicing the zerk fitting with a frame surrounding the opening that must be f...

Re: Modding a 1965 Landau

Last fall I decided to put aluminum heads and an Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 multiport sequential fuel injection on my 390 in a '65 Landau. When I pulled the heads the cylinders looked bad so I pulled the 390 and am doing what I always dreamed of for this car. I bought an Eagle 431 stroker kit, Crane .533 ...
