Lower front shock mounting bracket
Does anybody know how much the bolt that connects the front shock to the lower front shock mounting bracket should be torqued? I am starting to suspect that this is what's causing my front suspension to make loud metallic bangs. It also bangs very hard when hitting bumps in the road. I am wondering ...

Re: Exhaust system touching starter
Thank you for your answer. No 12 mm here. But I see that Bird Nest now has a manifold that has the same output that the left manifold has. Then I can get rid of the adapter. Just have to extend the exhaustpipe a bit.

Exhaust system touching starter
I have just installed my overhauled 390 engine into my 1966 T-bird. When installing the exhaust system, I notice that this (stupid) heatriser, or in fact I have an adapter there, makes the collar of the exhaust system actually in contact with the starter. I did even cut the system so that I could ju...

Re: C6 confusion
Thank you very much for very explaining answers. Based on this I think I`ll stick with my original C6 and get it overhauled.

C6 confusion
My 1966 has a C6 transmission. But it still has the same shift pattern as the Cruise-O-Matic. D2 - D - L. So, is it still a Cruise-O-Matic even if it undeniable is a C6? What makes it perform that shift pattern? If I were to buy a newer C6 transmission to swap, will I be able to maintain the origina...

Rear brake shoes position
Now, everywhere I look up on internet I seem to get the same result: The shoe with the shorter lining goes on the position that points at the front of the car. And that is how I have it installed on my 1966. But, in the Shop manual for 1966 there is a figure showing that the shoe with the long linin...

Re: Belt weatherstrip problem
Thanks! Yeah, a friend of mine with a 1965 also pointed that it should be at the rear. Guess that will solve my problem.

Belt weatherstrip problem
Does anybody know where the thicker part of the belt weatherstrip on the outside of the door goes? Front or rear of the door? The car is a 1966 Convertible. I am asking because my sidewindow seems to be binding at the last bit on the way up. I have installed it with the thicker part in the front. Th...

Re: Windshield top trim 1966 convertible
Thanks! I will try that. I have had it off once before, but it didn't sit good. Now the car has had a total body restoration, so I would like it to sit good.

Windshield top trim 1966 convertible
Does anybody have the correct procedure to install the top trim over the windshield on the convertible. I just can't get it to sit correctly over the lip on the windshield gasket. And it is quite, what should I say, squeezy, it is almost springloaded so it is a little fight just to get it on at all....

Wiper arm bezels on 1966
Hey guys! This issue might sound easy for you people living in USA and having lots of other T-birds to check out this on, but here, in Norway...it might be quite a few miles to the nearest 1966 model. Now, my case is this: On my 1966 convertible, as long as I have owned it, since 2005, there have ne...

Re: Lights in cruise control buttons
Well, nobody answered, but for future surfers I can tell that I now have found out that there are no lights in the buttons on the steering wheel. Spoke to fellow Thunderbird owner here in Norway.
