Re: Emergency flasher switch
So my flasher light/switch is on the overhead console, door ajar works, but is only a solid red. so after some work behind the dash, i noticed the flasher light was on, it has never worked, but it was now lit up, so i clicked it, and the car died, all power gone, seems fusible link running to batter...

Re: Just bought 1966 tbird for restore
well i assume it gets back there because of 2 things, either the window seal or the fact that the opening to the outside is open, the grill at the bottom of the rear window is open to the inside of the car, the vent area, so car wash and or heavy rain, I live in Florida, is how it gets back there. S...

Re: Just bought 1966 tbird for restore
The rear seat pan could have been rotted out by a mouse nest. It should be easy to fix. So i opened my trunk to find a swimming pool inside, at least the new floor pans are water tight. Have previously repaired the trunk molding and rechecked, thats not the issue, to make a long story short, used m...

Re: Painting speedometer numbers.. again
Color?? is that white or silver? Did i ever tell the story of the mechanic/owner of a restoration shop, who couldn't see the dash lights that well in Florida during the day (hello its sunny and bright-even when parked under an overpass), so he decided to scratch off all ''this paint that somebody pa...

Re: 1966 Alternator

Re: 64 Tbird big project- 4.6L mod motor, 5spd manual, IRS
Well it sounds like you're building a 1-off custom T-Bird and are obviously doing it right from the start. so after further review, i think the car you're building will be worth a lot more. 25k easy. Someone would be lucky to own it. Can't wait to see it done. good luck! in my mind, i'm seeing a cha...

Re: Performance Issues after complete Engine Rebuild
thanks for replying! 1. NO 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. new gas tank new o-rings, new sender, all new., 5. no on fuel lines The presence of a gas smell typically means something is leaking or allowing vapors to escape to atmosphere. There's not a whole lot to the fuel system to track down - it's very basic in i...

Re: Performance Issues after complete Engine Rebuild
Well to update. Have spent another $13,000 on this car. runs great if i stay on beach road at 35mph. Took it on highway, started overheating. Put gas in it, the whole inside of car smells like I spilled a 5 gallon gas jug in it. Just bought a CO Monitor, becuase it stills smells horrible in the car,...

Re: 66 aftermarket wheels

Re: Replacing Air Conditioning
Thanks, i think the big difference and maybe i'm rare, maybe not, i just don't have the expertise or time to do this work myself. I've done Mustangs, which are simple cars, the T-bird is, i think a highly gadgeted, small spaces vehicle to work on. and the air lines,...I had never heard of that.. int...

Re: 64 Tbird big project- 4.6L mod motor, 5spd manual, IRS
I'm just curious what 'kind' of profit you plan on making? I've spent an ungodly amount on mine and didn't do 1/2 the things you are attempting, now my costs were probably doubled since i don't do the work myself. but quick and at a profit..?, these cars can go for 6 or 7k. in pretty good shape. whi...

Re: Replacing Air Conditioning
and it's not so much the engine compartment parts, although that is a lot, on mine all the internal (behindthe dash vaccuum stuff was spent. and although this shop repairs, jags, porsches, corvettes, from the ground up, the t-bird is not their favorite to work on... I traded my '66 mustang last nigh...
