Not to change the subject, After I would come home from a long ride on my Harley. The smells of a cool down motor remind me of the police motorcycle garage when I was a kid. Oh and after a ride in the country my 56 would have that classic old car smell.

May I add this suggestion, When mounting a right side mirror. Make sure the A pillar does not obstruct the mirror viewing . Measure before you drill holes to mount. been there done that.

Ward , I looked at my invoice, The invoice read in lieu of the hard top, The soft top was a extra add on for $58.50.

According to the 57 sales brochure the "Port"window is the standard window for all 57 Thunderbirds. Or for those who prefer
the hard top is available without "port" windows. This is taken from the original 1957 Thunderbird brochure.

Sorry to hear this, I was lured to a 56 bird 7 years ago. The car had everything going for it. Nice pictures etc. I drove out to see the car 150 miles . The car was put together like a scape book. The guy photoshopped the pictures !

This is an interesting discussion. What I have read using a heavy weighted oil SAE 90 above 10 degrees or below 10 degrees use SAE 80 weight. not synthetic . Your should also check the oil level in the differential when your changing the motor oil.
