Did you ask CASCO had any instructions on how to install the Garnish kit Before you purchased it ?

I would not do the install since yourself. Especially your nursing a hernia . Trying to install the swing arm is tricky and is heavy it takes upper to mid lower body strength to install although you will need a second pair of hands. My advice pay someone that knows how to install it.....

My answer to the question is regardless how tight the Tonneau is made the water will seep inside.

Not to change the subject, After I would come home from a long ride on my Harley. The smells of a cool down motor remind me of the police motorcycle garage when I was a kid. Oh and after a ride in the country my 56 would have that classic old car smell.

May I add this suggestion, When mounting a right side mirror. Make sure the A pillar does not obstruct the mirror viewing . Measure before you drill holes to mount. been there done that.
