Re: 1967 power steering pump leak
That is a Zinc Ear Clamp and is original, and if you are careful, can be reused. Remove by inserting a small pick or pocket screwdriver, the like in the opening, and rocking it back and forth. Watch this and you will see what needs to be un-done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=lYHdr...

Re: 1963 Landau Front Shock Absorber
These work perfect, ran them for years before finding NOS. Did have to push the bar mount out of the rubber, or something (been too long). Here is a place that claims to have them, used to be available anywhere... I don't like the looks of that website much (never heard of it). There's some on eBay,...

Re: HELP!! Need Ash Tray Lid Springs
Learned the other day, that this spring set, though still incorrect, has a far superior fit, and are nearly as stout as an original spring. The aforementioned Mustang springs, are very weak, and will rub on the lighter socket. I did square up (some) the very poorly formed 'jogs' at the end of these ...

Re: '63 door painting detail question
Oh brother! Thanks Alan.. Been through my B,T & S manual dozens of times, somehow this page escaped me... Thanks for pointing out what I had right in front of me the whole time. I'll still post pics, just because it's a good clean original example of this, since the thread is in the ether now. C...

Re: '63 door painting detail question
Thanks as always Jim. I did do just that, regarding the hinge pins, I'm betting the 'imported' pins that come with the kit are probably more sacrificial than the Bronze  I was dismayed at losing the length on the bushings, compared to the originals. I suppose a guy could really get picky and r...

'63 door painting detail question
Is it correct, for my Corinthian White Hardtop to have "shadowing" or "black-out" sprayed, basically where it can't much be seen, like behind/beneath the cat whisker strip, and the upper cavity that the vent window assembly slides down into? Pretty sure it is supposed to be there...

Re: R12 freon
Yes, due to Gestapo EPA regulation, they were required to stop labeling it as R12 replacement.
Yes use their "R134a" replacement.
You will love it!!

Re: R12 freon
R134a conversion is not the best route. It is a very inefficient refrigerant when used in systems designed to have R12, due to it running MUCH higher head pressures, which the early systems were never designed to mitigate. Just check your compressor oil level, make sure the clutch engages, vacuum th...

Re: Hard Brake pedal??
Heads-up if you go to a Bendix booster, you would need the bracket too (which may or may not exist for '66 T-bird?). You need to see what the pedal acts like with the MC out of the mix. Unfasten the MC, and bend out of the way, then install the filter spacer, and tighten the MC nuts. This seals the ...
