Sport Roadster Verification

I am in the market for a 61 - 62 Sport Roadster, I remember Alan Tast and others state that the only way to know FOR SURE that a Sport Roadster is "factory" is if you have the build sheet or gate release. I'm getting pushback now from the examples I am looking at that you CAN tell if a 62 ...

Re: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER REMOVAL

I asked the same thing and got almost no response except to call Casco. What I found out from them is that you have to take all the gages out, they are attached by screws underneath the dash; quite a job getting under there and getting to them! You also have some bent tabs that have to be lifted, be...

Re: replacing 57 dash aluminum instrument cluster

I guess he finally got what he really wanted, recognition from Hollywood; he is really proud that he just sold two cars to the Kardashians.

Re: replacing 57 dash aluminum instrument cluster

Appreciate the Casco tip, wow, I thought this piece of trim would be a common replacement. Thanks

Re: replacing 57 dash aluminum instrument cluster

LOL on that "call Amos", I went to visit him, and after looking at his extraordinarily priced cars he said; if you don't buy from me don't expect us to work on your car! True story.

Re: replacing 57 dash aluminum instrument cluster

No, it does not have an adhesive or double sided tape. I have read that the instruments can come out of the dash individually without removing the whole dash, just do not know how the aluminum is attached to the dash. Thanks for your reply, thought someone on here would have some experience replacin...

replacing 57 dash aluminum instrument cluster

We finally have access again to the aluminum instrument cluster plate! I have ordered one but now I am wondering how in the world you remove and replace this piece; any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Front spring removal tool

Yep, on the dangerous part! I had my entire front end restored right before the NO convention. When I took the car in the first thing my mechanic said was; "are trying to kill me"? He acquired a tool someplace and did the job. Just now finished the job on the rear, rides great now! (look m...

We haven't done anything yet, and I don't think it is the same system you have installed. When I get a better read on what my mechanic has up his sleeve and how it works I will report back with all the details.

Will do Jim, I think he "believes" this to be problem. He hasn't actually tested the switch, it doesn't cycle off so he is pretty sure that's what it is. I will send the old switch to you, hopefully that is what it is!

Thanks to all for your help.

Thanks Jim, I really appreciate the input. Would the attached used switch from the Bird House fix the problem?

Bob, it worked for a short while, (I think) and then started freezing up. My mechanic thought that there is an adjustment screw on the switch but this one does not have one?? It cools great but just won't cycle off and on.

AC freezing up

I need some advice from the wise sages of our club. I thought my AC was good to go and now it is freezing up! My mechanic thinks it is the thermostatic switch, but I can't find one. The only thing I've found is a used thermostat switch/vacuum motor assembly from Bob's Bird House. Any ideas, suggesti...
