Re: Need to vent about someone's stupidity
Im selling several things and run into the same BS. People are flat disrespectful of my time and wont respond, they just disappear. Sorry to hear that, but it reminds me of some of the crap I get from people. And the scammers are unbelievable!! Anyway, take care. Frank

Re: Pertronix ignition system
I spoke with Pertronix and they sent me some diagrams of bypassing the resistor wire with a small relay. Mine is a 66. I will be out of town until Sunday afternoon, but can email you the diagrams IF they would be the same as 65? Frank. flilawsa@msn.com

My skirts are aftermarket fiberglass and have a spring loaded pin on the front that locks into a hole in the fender. I think yours is different. I had to make a tool to slip on the release to remove the skirt. Its damn tight in there!! Good luck with your creativity!!

Re: 17x7 wheels for 66 T-Bird, should fit, but do not.
I had to grind 2 places on my skirts where the tire bulge hit. There is a small ridge on the caliper that some people have ground down to fit depending on whats rubbing. I also had to modify the front of the front wheelwell trim to prevent rubbing when turning.

Sorry if this is redundant. I had the same problem on a truck and had to soak the area around the hub and studs overnight and finally it broke loose. But I get your frustration. I was thinking, "am I that dumb, and do i need to calla shop to get these off!?" Good luck man!

Re: Advice on Interior
I hope this isnt redundant. My spare key would not work. Being simple, I lubed the keyhole with WD40. That lubed things enough for the key to work. Again, sorry if this doesnt pertain.

Re: Painted Chrome
I agree with what was said above other than using anything abrasive. Liquid paint remover shouldnt hurt chrome, and its made for stripping paint. Once the chrome is scuffed, even slightly, its not repairable because of the plating process. I know a lot of people recommend steel wool, but I wouldnt d...

Re: Battery replacement
Removing it may increase your battery life,,? If its fully charged it will last many months in cold without any problems. I dont think the birds draw any current other than the clock. If your clock works, then you will get a minimal draw which can discharge the battery over a few months. Can you sta...

Re: 65 tbird replacement trunk liner kit
I apoligize for kind of hacking this thread. Alan, I have the shop manual, which doesnt spell out a lot of simple tasksl. Is the guide you mentioned more of a restoration guide vs. a how to for assy/dis assy? I think a lot of us get frustrated with buying manuals and still having simple kinds of que...
