Re: wanted 66 bird signal relay

sounds like it could be the large relay in the back of the car, that is the signal light relay. The one under the dash is the signal indicator light relay for the front top fender lights. Do you have brake lights? I have seen on those large relays that sometimes a wire will come loose from those lit...

Re: 1987-88 roof emblem part number

They are not.
I sent one from a 85 to a customer and they sent me photos of the holes in the roof versus the pins on the part
they do not match
I had to take the part back

Re: Tray motor bushing/sleeve

Good afternoon

my bet is that the small metal connector plate between the motor and the gearbox has dislodged and jammed in there. That piece of rubber actually holds it all together. you could use a piece of thin hose or tubing for this, just so it does not bind with the framework of the housing.

If you contact me I can supply a lot of pictures and helpful hints on doing this repair. I have done several convertibles already and all years using my method of adding in a square tube from front to back inside the rocker panel area

Re: '65 Thunderbird Dorman Power Window Motors

1966 is the same as yours
if you want to use the 64 you will also have to have the little gearbox from the 64
yours and the 66 have the gearbox built onto the motor,
the 64 is separate but the pair together will fit onto your regulator

Re: '65 Thunderbird Dorman Power Window Motors

Hi guys, I have rebuilt lots of these window motors, learned a lot along the way and there are a few things i want to share with you. first of all the door window motors from 65-66 are the same but there is a left and right but only for the gear housing on the end of the motor. The 1964 motors do no...

Re: 61 Convertible Deck/Flip Lid Gearbox Housing

correct
also when you get it apart, inspect the shaft. It has 2 flats on it. you need to make sure the edges of the flats are not sort of mushroomed
if they are bad I braze the corners and then file the welds so the new gear fits tight on the shaft

Re: 61 Convertible Deck/Flip Lid Gearbox Housing

the shaft is just pressed in there sometimes you can just tap it out and sometimes you need to get creative and do some blocking and wedging to hold the gear and gear housing while you pound on the shaft.......... USE A BRASS PUNCH.... do not mushroom over the end of the shaft I have rebuilt lots of...

Re: 61-63 convertible top hoses

won't make any difference anyway, they won't change what they use when they make them
best I can do is to get them to make them directionally correct from a set I have that is known factory original
I am doing that now with the 58-60.
