Re: 64 Bent Pushrods

When you first got the car had it been sitting for any amount of time? Fe engines are known for bending pushrods if you start them without doing some pre start work first. Always a good idea to remove plugs squirt some oil into the cylinders and rotate by hand a few times before strating them.

Re: 66 390 Rebuild Kits? Exhaust Manifold

Don't forget the crank. If scored and needs machining you will need to get the correct size bearings. I wouldn't buy a gasket kit until after you have block machined as you will need to know what thickness gasket to get to obtain the correct compression height. This all depends on what pistons you u...

Re: 64 Restoration

That is a big cam and the Performer RPM should be a better intake for an FE. I can't remember exactly but I think my hydraulic roller cam is something like 232/238 .580 lift.

Those vents need cleaning out from time to time. Mine were rotted and leaking so I went to clean them out and this is what I found.

Your stalling could be a vacuum leak. Check all your hoses are connected from brake booster to manifold, transmission etc.

Re: Sanderson headers, passenger side exhaust routing?

If you look back through the 61-63 section I think "Graeme" Ozbird a guy from Melbourne Aust had pictures of his Sanderson fitment, around about 2016.

For a moment there I thought "Typical Ford dealer" dead battery so they replaced the steering rag joint. Anyway, I removed the power steering box from my 64 without taking off exhaust. Just needs some farckling to get it out. The problem is it's heavy so laying on your back holding it in t...

As Bob pointed out, as posted by others the deflection of the amp meter is minuscule when in use unless you have a major problem.

I'd take a look at the FE power forum and find advice about new engine break in. There are engine builders on there that give good advice.

Re: Any experience with the Jamco Brake MC and booster conversion?

Does anyone know the bore size of the master cylinders on these units. If it's 1" then that could be the reason for the low pedal. There is a correlation between the master bore size and the wheel cylinder bore size. Can't remember which way it works but that could be the problem. Although I wo...
