Odometer 6,057?? If that's was true, this car might be worth the price and then some...but with a replaced motor it's gotta be 106,057. So, 9 grand tops.

Very nice looking car, though.

Did it have crushed velvet seats?? :) Take a look at the storage bay option. I once rented a storage bay at one of those "U Rent" type places in PA and would swap between a 89 Porsche and another car I had, but when I only had a one car garage. The way I see it, it is far more costly to le...

I had a couple of pits in a windshield "reparied" with that stuff years ago. It was less than ideal, but did make them less noticeable. ...I think I would rather have *somewhat* repaired pits PLUS the Ducks Unlimited and golf club stickers from the early 60's than a new windshield. Windshi...

I asked the guy for the VIN number. Naturally, he did not have it.

He probably has a garage full of 1983 Corvettes, too.

Nice looking convertible. But to your question about leaving it outside (even with a cover). Yes, that would qualify as crazy. If you buy something like this, check out a local indoor temp controlled car storage place and invest the monthly $$ in it. They are not terribly expensive - usually. Or ren...

Has anyone heard this before?

1962 2DR HT TBird...with a 427 in it? Supposedly a factory special order known as a "Texas Special". The guy who told me he owns this car says it was delivered for the personal use of the governor of Texas, who would have been John Connally at the time...the others (total of 60 made) were,...

I have seen two of those photos in an ad for a SR for sale in the US (the black ones with the correct tonneau). ...I think the deal with that tonneau is that the trunk lid does not close and they have just pushed the tonneau back under it to get it out of the way - and you may be right about the fli...

I made a day of walking around Barrett-Jackson yesterday and had no luck locating the 62 SR that they have listed to hit the block on Thursday (#762). Looked like a number of people had shipments delayed due to east coast weather, but I don't know if that applies here. If I ever win $300 million in ...

Correct top - canvas or vinyl?

Tried doing a search here for this but nothing came up.

What is the correct top material for a 62 SR? Canvas or vinyl?

I would buy this one and pocket the change. Don't know if the 30K miles is accurate, but this looks like a nice, correct, SR.

Especially since this car has a particular history as a Ford keeper, doing a resto-mod job on it is unfortunate (IMVHO). But it is certainly well done and a beautiful result that should net the seller about $70K (I wonder if this one is headed to Scottsdale). His opening price is off base and I thin...

The VIN on the B-J car this year is pretty close to mine. I tried to look this one up in the registry, but just found out that it is no longer available for browsing. You're right about the AC - I didn't notice that before. Can't be the same car, so you have to wonder whether it's right car/wrong en...

Back in 1970 I worked a summer at a Datsun dealership and used to install those trim pieces on brand new 240Zs. So, I can tell you from direct experience that the high school kid who was trusted to drill mounting holes in new cars had about 30 minutes of training and no idea what he was doing. Lot's...
