Re: 61 strut rods different from 62-66?
Good work. I took a short cut and cut the strut rod bushing sleeve about 1/4" or do. It was the thickness of two washers which I installed behind the nut to pull things tight . I also gained a stable ride up to 75 mph. I hope never to go that hast in this car again :)

Re: More Positive Caster with Upper Control Arm
Yeah, me too. I found both upper shafts badly worn . I did put a 1/8" washer behind the front bolt. Since I had the car aligned with the worn shafts who knows what the specs are now. Still trying to get my 4 wheel disc conversion sorted.

Re: 62 front break conversion
Nothing interchanges. Keep the spindles and go with an adapter kit. You can buy the Granada rotors and GM calipers locally.

Re: More Positive Caster with Upper Control Arm
I have the same problem and my car is uncomfortable to steer and drive on the open road. Wheel doesn't turn back either. On modern A-arms are the adjusting point either via a slot or shims. I'm going to shim between the front bolt and body. This will push the top of the spindle back increasing the c...

WHo's running aluminum valve covers ? How ?
I see some guys running aluminum valve covers and wonder what you had to do to get them there. I have a pair of vintage M/T and Cal Custom covers that I can't get on as they hit the booster.

CPP confirmed the Lincoln kit won't work on the TBird and they don't sell the hubs separately.

What size axle bearing on a 62?
I need to know the bearing size on my 62. I read the Tbird and all full sized Fords were medium. Early Mustangs small with later having the large bearing option and 70 & up Torino had their own. I'm looking to do a brake upgrade and would like to avoid pulling mine apart. My research did show th...

More disc brake ?? CPP 61-64 Lincoln 13" kit
I saw this kit today and was wondering is it would fit my 62. http://www.classicperform.com/Store/Brakes/6164WBK-P13.htm http://www.classicperform.com/Instructions/PDF/6164WBK-P13instructions.pdf It's not cheap but they are 13" dual piston. Here's another kit but for early Mustang. http://www.e...

How did you get the valve covers to clear the brake booster? I can't get my Cal Custom finned covers to fit.

Re: Temperamental Horn
I think mine is 18" which fills the factory shroud. I also replaced my horns with new repo units. They are 100% better than stock. Even added a 16" electric pusher fan and adjustable thermostat. It's barely under control on a hot day in traffic.
