Re: Heater core

Hi Alan , can you replace with a 1963 heater core and 63 vavle ?
I am thinking that the 3 stud might be stronger. Will it work ?
That's Arthur.

Heater core

Replacing heater core and valve. In my non aircond, early 1962 Thunderbird.
Is there a difference between the 1961 heater core and the 1963 heater core . I need to replace the heater core and the valve at the same time.

Re: Rim spacers

Hi Karl , I got some aluminium wheel hub centric rings on ebay from a guy in Queensland. He didn't have the right size but I was able to get one set that fit the wheel with a smaller hub hole and had a friend machine it larger for me, works well on my after market mag wheels.

Clock

I am trying to remove the clock face from the clock and the only thing that is stopping me from doing this is the knob that adjust the time from the front of the gauge. Can I remove it, without causing any damage ? [url ./image-archive/i1158.photobucket.com/albums/p604/arthursphoto/gauge/thunderbird...

Re: 1962 Rear end leaf spring mounting position

I had a spring company reset my leaf springs to the height that I wanted and I had a extra leaf added to make it a bit stiffer.

Re: wire wheel and disc brake conversions to 1963 Tbird

I don't know about wire wheels , but if you are looking at the aftermarket disc brake kits on the Internet, most of them run a larger bearing hub so standard steel rims don't fit. You need to run later model wheels

Re: FF394 Sanderson Block huggers - Yes

Go to hear that they fit. Are you able to post some photo's to show how it fits in the car, the engine mount you mention and how close to the shock towers.

Cheers Arthur

Re: 'It's all in the prep'

Yer its going to be had to get everything back together. I use a tablet to take as many photo's as possible. I hope it helps and I sent the springs for powdered coating. I used a piece of flat bar to spread the springs apart so they could be basted and coated. ./image-archive/i1158.photobucket.com/a...

Re: Jumpy steering

Jim, You are 100% correct. had a look at my front end and it would be impossible. I spoke to this person a year ago and my memory after one year is not good ? The guy said there was a problem on the passenger side with the centre link, idler arm and the tie rod and something was upside down, but now...
