Re: Console Shifter

I always thought the 65/66 Mustang automatics "T" shifter would have looked right at home in the Thunderbird.

Re: Fuel Injection!

I appreciate the information on the pump. The dimensions really add up! Have you tried spacing the tank down about 1.5" to see how it works? I've got some 3/4" horse stall mat I was going to use as a spacer. Might have to double it up! Or if we make the hole in the trunk, would we be able ...

Re: sniper efi

Interesting that Ford finally went to manifold vac. adv. (like GM) instead of ported. Should work just fine and result in lower idle temps (albeit with slightly higher emissions).

Re: Fuel Injection!

Thanks for that Stub..
BTW, I've looked at that pump but it only goes up to 12" deep and our tanks are closer to 18.

Re: Fuel Injection!

Hey Scott Great write up. I read everything twice as I was ordering my Sniper set up. I have a couple of questions. 1- Did you consider using the sniper system to control the ignition? and at this point after running it for a while, do you think it would be a worthwhile upgrade? Using the holley di...

Re: Fuel Injection!

Hey everybody, I thought I would post an update on my Sniper install (finally, right?). Robbie (Sleeper Bird) PM'd me and I thought I'd copy and paste what I wrote to hi (cuz I'm kinda lazy like that LOL). The Sniper is working out pretty good! I've learned a couple of things along the way. First is...

Re: replacing oil pan '66 390

I've been running a high volume pump on mine for decades and have never found the eng to use anymore oil than an FE normally does.

Re: How do I ....?

Another option is 3M two sided tape like the stuff used to hold modern car emblems on.
Great stuff - I use it all over the place.
Or even a dab of silicone.

Re: stock tire size

OEM was G78/15.
215 75 R15 is as close as you can get in a radial but its revolutions per mile is a little lower which throws the speedo off a little.
If you could go to a wider radial tire the speedo would be closer but the rims aren't wide enough.

Re: Instrument Light Question

I bought a laminated, color wiring schematic for my car. It's so easy to use and follow! I highly recommend one even after you get a manual. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1961-1962-Ford-Thunderbird-T-Bird-Full-Color-Laminated-Wiring-Diagram-11-X-17/362608300295?epid=714206514&hash=item546d239107:g:ic...

Re: Repairing '65 T-Bird clock

That's great Joe. My clock was dead for many years before I finally replaced it. Just one of those little things that makes the car all that much nicer. I did a little experiment and kept the battery connected in order to check my clock. Since my post on Dec. 22, it has lost 15 minutes. But at least...

Re: speedometer issue

I would expect the cable to either be broken or working. If it were the gear, it would probably skip or just stop altogether. I don't see how either of them could smoothly limit the speed on their own but I get surprised everyday. Maybe a neighbor has a higher speed drill you could try? Just for fun...

The band clamp fits so well that you really dont need sealant and most people dont use any. If you want, you can use the red stuff to seal it up.
It's code though for school busses!
