I think i found a GREEN DRIVE GEAR in my trunK!

I AM REPEATING A POST IN ORDER THAT I MIGHT ADD PICTURES AFTER I READ DAN'S TUTORIAL(THANKS DAN!) Well just when i thought all hope might be lost regarding finding a DRIVE GEAR so i can hook up my speedo cable i cleaned out my trunk and Voile!..... what i think is a GREEN PLASTIC (NYLON?) DRIVE GEAR...

Hey Mike, Thanks for the info. i'm in a great position to do that seeing as i bought a driven gear thinking it was a drive gear. I'm gonna tell my mechanic this & maybe this is the answer. i believe i still have a drive gear but my mechanic figured it was shot after installing a new speedo cable...

Thanks for the diagram Jim. As far as why i think i need the drive gear i bought a new speedo cable, driven gear & clip & my mechanic tried attaching it & it isn't working. i'm not sure if mine is still in there & stripped or what the exact situation is but it is essentially the last...
