Exact issue is the selector will jump from park to reverse releasing the brake then off we go--backwards of course ! I have read some of the fixes for the selector but would also like to disengage the auto release for safety sake.

thanks Jim-this is my 3rd attempt at replying.
Not quite sure of yr message. I have now got a trans from a Galaxie Fe Big Block, same Bellhousing. Do u mean i need a crossmember from a 66 TBird or can I modify existing ?
Appreciate the advice.

C6 auto into a 64 Bird

Difficulty obtaining parts for the med. case in Aus. Suggested I look for a compatible C6 . Any experience or info. much appreciated.

auto brake release fix/disengage

My 64 Bird has a very delicate fixture- slightest bump will release the brake into reverse and off she goes. Quite daunting- I thought the safest fix would be to disengage the auto release. all ideas most welcome.

Some have said to stick in the 600/650 range others like yourself the 750 so I am in a bit of a quandry,

Tks, kinda gathered that by now.As there is a section for modified I thought there might have been more interest.
Have had some helpful advice though.
Ford FE forum has also proved very usefull.

Engine out, as we are looking to fit a cam and new heads thought we might go the "whole hog" with a stroker kit. Whaddya think ?
