Re: 63 Instrument Cluster Rechrome
I can recommend Custom Plating Specialists in Brillion, WI. The are not cheap and lead times are lengthy, but they do excellent work. You will still have to refinish the painted areas yourself. https://scontent-ort2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/34409827_364487740738885_8767166997290024960_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0...

Re: Block casting date question
Cast in January 58, for a 1959 model year car. I have a C5 block for my 65 my car, cast in August 64. hope that helps. ...and I have a "C1" part number on the block in my 1960 with a casting date of July 5, 1960. Just goes to show you cannot go by the part number exclusively when determin...

I would use a trailer until the car can be fully checked out. Some areas of concern would be brakes, fuel system, and tires.
That mileage is extremely low! We would love seeing some pics!

Heater box finish question
The under dash heater box assembly in my 1960 convertible is finished in a sort of wrinkle finish black paint. Is this correct? I could not find it mentioned in the OFS. Thanks!

Late 1960 Z paint code match?
I'm trying to get a good match for the Platinum code Z. The PPG formula 31991 appears pretty far off. Has anyone here found a better match to the original color? I understand the color may have actually been changed to a more bronze hue late in the year but I have found no reference to this in the m...

Calling all 430 V-8 Experts!
I am contemplating putting a 430 back into a '59 "J" code restoration that now has a later model 352 in it. I suspect the tranny is also of a later variety so that may also need to be swapped. In consideration of a "concours quality" restoration, I have several questions: 1. Will...

Anti-freeze tag info?
Does anyone have a picture of an original anti-freeze tag like the one provided by Osborn which is supposed to be affixed to the coolant tank drain tube? I'm wondering how they were originally filled out.

UPDATE: Word is I'll be needing a rebuild! They got the tranny to shift, but it goes thru 2nd quickly and slips in 3rd.

I am in need of one original 48-spoke KH wire spoke wheel in good condition for my '62 convertible. This will be used to mount the spare. Any leads appreciated! Please PM me with price and condition.

Well, I checked the modulator and cleaned up the governor but still no shift out of 1st gear. The car will be going into the shop on Monday.

Re: Transmission issues!
Thanks David! The car was shifting fine but decided to stop. First I noticed some hesitation shifting into 2nd, then within a few miles it wouldn't move out of first in either drive range. Park, reverse, low and neutral all are in their proper place and work fine.
