I'm crying
I've hit financial low.. and I was getting ready to sell a piece of history... but seeing all you guys and your birds makes me want to hang onto mine. It sucks being young, barely making ends meet, with a bird collecting dust... *sigh* I'll hold onto my bird for as long as I can... but I fear I'll h...

Today I noticed a small green puddle on the passenger floormat -dang! Thank You very much for taking the time to post images and notes on removing the heater core from an A/C car. I found the thread doing a search for heater core. I'd like to replace it with a new core if they're available, otherwi...

Actually, it's sad but true, these days $750 to rebuild an automatic transmission is actually a darn good price. When I was thinking about rebuilding mine instead of putting in the 5-speed manual, I was quoted $1200 to $1500 for the job from the shops in Tallahassee. I guess living in L.A. you stil...

Car manufacturers always calculate curb weight to include the model's standard equipment and a full tank of gas, but not any passengers or cargo. So, with a gallon of gas weighing around 6 pounds, a full 20-gallon tank accounts for about 120 pounds of that curb weight. are you sure the tank is 20 g...

The transmission used in the Lincoln is called an HX/Turbohydromatic and might not work for you. It was used behind the 430s through '65 and has a larger, longer case than the MX used in T-birds/full-size Fords, and I don't know how it compares length-wise or for mounting points by the time you fac...

Thank you all for the wonderful advice! Truly, truly a vast knowledge worth sharing. For the time being, I managed to find a fully rebuilt transmission for $150.00 including the torque converter... however, it's a 1959-1966 FoMo 3 speed used in the Lincolns. It... is called... something.. turbo... /...

Hey there, Yes I did get it taken care of. I called several parts places for advice, but not a single one of them has ever replaced a dash pad, so they couldn't help. Another member here was kind enough to spend an hour or better explaining the process to me. So armed with his explination of the pr...
