'55 Thunderbird Fuel Pump
Apologies if this has already been answered but i've been out of the loop for a few years. We've just had our second Airtex fuel pump fail. The first lasted one journey and the second is now leaking. Using ethanol free fuel. I still have my original AC pump, which hasn't seen the road in nearly four...

Re: Brakes hard to press
I replaced the booster but I also found the linkage was very stiff behind the booster as well. Is there any adjustment available in the brake pedal arm / linkage? I've spent a few days refreshing my brakes, new shoes, bled all four corners, adjusted the booster push rod and all eight shoes to what ...

Re: Correct Front Wheel Cylinders for '63
Fantastic replies, all the info I was hoping for. I'd roll the dice on the AC Delco ones on Summits site but the shipping is prohibitive (even for me, I do not usually mind!) https://s22.postimg.cc/pjzudly35/Capture.jpg I can take a gamble on this Dorman brand i've found (Dorman W35074) as I can get...

Re: Correct Front Wheel Cylinders for '63
So a hunt for old stock or used originals for sleeving and rebuilding it is. Could someone kindly post the original Ford part numbers for these two parts?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Correct Front Wheel Cylinders for '63
Just ordered a pair of front wheel cylinders listed as "RAYBESTOS WC35074 and WC35073" https://www.rockauto.com/info/27/WC35074_SID__ra_p.jpg Hoping they would have the correctly drilled angle of bleed screw. Shame on me for thinking I'd receive what the photo showed. I remember this being...

Re: Benidx Starter Drive Question
I also bought a bird house 'rebuilt' starter for my '63 which lasted about a week. Any advice or testimonials of where a good one can be sourced would be much appreciated.

Re: Brake linings.
If you haven't bought them already, you can buy them riveted: https://www.rockauto.co.uk/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=108065&cc=1335080&jnid=483&jpid=4 https://www.rockauto.co.uk/catalog/raframecatalog.php Bonded works fine for me, every now and then you get a real treat on eBay and some prop...

Emblem Details
I left my original fender emblems with the chrome platers on my last visit 'just for the hell of it' as they were very badly pitted / not much paint left on them and the car is currently wearing a pair of reproduction emblems anyway. They came back real nice, anyone know anywhere that would paint th...

Re: Brake Problem
Pleasure! Euro Tunnel takes about a half hour, drive on drive off from the port of Folkestone to Calais, although it isn't without its problems (http://www.bbc.co.uk/search?q=calais) The French highways were littered with new mustangs etc and yes, that was before my engine rebuild..it was also about...

Re: Finish Requirements Undercarriage-Hood, 62 SR, M-Code
Some great attention to detail there. I can help with a couple of those, take a look here for hood pins, the last photos are accurate but the nut and washers should be that oil and phosphate grey/black colour (4, 5 and 6 in your picture) http://www.vintagethunderbirdclub.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6...

Re: Brake Problem
I tried out a number of finishes of the drums, powder coating and even zinc plating (obviously not on the braking surface) the latter looked great but didn't turn out too good, ./image-archive/i1034.photobucket.com/albums/a424/ellb88/FullSizeRender_zpsgx3pc2m8.jpg but I understand the OFS states 'Ca...

Re: Brake Problem
It's a shame I didn't know of your need earlier Elliot; two weeks ago I sold a pair of NOS Ford front brake drums for 63-4 Birds. Shipping cost from Canada to England would have been a fright though... Felt my eyes well up and fist clench when I read that ; ) As far as shipping is concerned, believ...
