Not a purist but there is something to be said for brand loyalty. Hate seeing a Small Block Chevy in any Ford.

If you are talking about the pinion seal. Then the yoke may need a speedy sleeve to repair it. An old hard seal can wear a groove into the seal surface. I recently did a 56 pinion seal. Surprised to see a Dana 44 axle in it. It had an unusually large diameter seal compared to the off road stuff I no...

That is a good thing. the short has burned itself clean away. Now you can trace power with a simple test light. Test the wires one by one. Do you have a schematic of the circuit?

The body lines with the cowl and fender are adjusted. 1 of the 3 bolts were missing so yes all were loosened. Sounds like I need to pull the spring and check for play in the hinge. Will do so over the weekend and report back with the findings Thanks guys.

I have looked the hinges over closely with no visible signs of wear. I can not feel any play but would not expect to with the spring attached. The hood does ride high in the back but I am unable to push it down any further. So how do I determine if the hinge is indeed worn.

First off Welcome. Now are you trying to keep a stock appearance to your car? If so the 65/66 brakes will work with the wheels from those years. If going with aftermarket wheels and tires you can get bolt on kits but as you said, prices vary.

The high performance FE builders recommend running an extra quart. Being a front sump oil pan, oil tends to run back away from the pick up under hard acceleration. This gives you a loss of oil pressure. Temporary but still doing damage.

Hood adjustment?

The rear of my hood rides high in the back on the passenger side. Hinge adjustment is bottomed out. The hood does not appear bent as the rise is gradual along the fender from the fender. And gradual along the cowl to the drivers side. Am I missing something? Or do I need to pull the hinge and cut th...
