Tail Lamp Sockets- '65

I noticed all 6 sockets on my '65 coupe are split in several places, making the bulbs loose. Anyone popped out the sockets and replaced them? Any tips on where to get new sockets?

Funny my '65 convertible, which is 7 months older all six of the tail lamp sockets are fine.

The springs go between the handle and the clear/white plastic washers. puts tension on the Escutcheons to keep them from popping loose and hanging down.

hmmmm seems the motor is still drawing more power than normal... battery cant take the draw but the battery charger can. It could be the tracks and gear are really gummed up... but leaning towards the motor still. Any good auto electric shop can test the draw. I have had new motors fail so a year on...

last summer I replaced the tank in my coupe- did it by myself. Not too bad of a job, replace the sender while tank is out.. for some unknown reason I just forgot - ended up fighting the sender's seal for like two hours. All the seals and hangers are available so replace them. Looks great when you ar...

I had to replace a piston in one of my '65s reclining seat. It was tedious but not a bad job, took a good Sat afternoon. In my case the tabs on the bottom of the piston had broken off- found a really bad seat and salvaged a used piston and cable for under $50.

I have a NOS set with the square ribs on the back side, I keep them wrapped in plastic and only use for shows...even though most high end shows you have to remove matsso the carpet condition can be seen. I keep a set of repros in the car for driving and found that they do get dirty, almost oily very...

She will be waiting for you when you return. Like a Glad to see she got winterized, too many folks forget or don't think about getting their antiques (or any auto) ready for the winter slumber. I got a bad tank of gas a couple years ago and even the Sta-bl couldn't keep the gas fresh, cost me a carb...
