Re: Still suffering from hard brake pedal
I'm getting brake fluid at the booster from the line going back to the front chamber of the master cylinder. And if I disconnect this line I get good fluid flow from the master cylinder.

Re: Still suffering from hard brake pedal
Here they are. The only item that I did not get with the rebuilt was the brass fitting that attaches to the brake line going to the front chamber of the master cylinder. I am including photos of it as well.

Still suffering from hard brake pedal
I have had a hard brake pedal for years. Finally saved up for a rebuilt Booster ($700). I have confirmed the check valve is working and have fluid in the master cylinder. I was told to bleed the booster first. Upon starting the car and cracking open the bleeder on the booster I find that nothing is ...

Re: Brake booster woes
I live an hour and a half from CASCO. I think I'll take the cowards way out and bring it to them as a core and pick up a rebuilt one there. I'm ashamed of myself. It will last for about 5 minutes. :)

Brake booster woes
My '56 has had a hard pedal for years now and I'm determined to fix the power brakes. With my foot on the pedal when I start the car the pedal doesn't move. With the engine off the pumping the pedal has no effect (as if the vacuum is bleeding off). Today I disconnected the vacuum line to the booster...

Power brakes not so powerful
Could use a little help troubleshooting my not so powerful power brakes. With engine off I pump the brakes and hold them with some pressure while starting the car. Pedal does not move any further once engine is running. If it is an issue with the booster where do I start to determine what is needed ...

One thing I found helpful for exploring the mysteries of what's going on behind that contortionist dream is taking a series of photos (with flash). I found it was not easy even doing that reaching up and behind the panel and holding the camera steady to get it to focus and snap off a picture without...

I've been giving this consideration as well. I hate to think the starter works as long as it does just to fill the fuel bowl. I never gave a thought to the toggle switch. I like that idea as well as keeping the manual pump for normal driving. It would be just like me to leave the electric toggle swi...

For the below cleaning and claying procedure: To begin, I am a strong advocate of never using soap to wash a vehicle, because it strips the wax off the finish. Stripping the wax of the existing finish is necessary before using a clay bar, or the plumber's putty I chose. I used dawn blue dishwashing ...
