fuel pump fitting question and another about timing

Replaced the fuel pump my question is about using anything to seal the threads on the fine thread fitting. https://preview.ibb.co/ggONHa/20170610_155703.jpg I understand the coarse threads don't require anything, Im just curious about opinions on the fine thread side. I ended up using a smaller Flathead screwdriver to wedge between the tube and block, got it in a little way, tried the same on the other side... Looked like I may b...

Excellent, thanks. I'll give it whirl.

Summer is here, which means it's time to drive the bird... Also means it's time to work on it

I thought I had the same problem 2 years ago...

Took the fuel tank out and found it full of rust, the screen on the inlet tube in the gastank had deteriorated and was plugging up the fuel inlet in the tank

There are a number of cheap-o sound dampeners out there - parts express used to sell some that was much cheaper than dynomat Like dusty says -layer the cheap stuff up and it will perform the same. On a side note -I always see people putting the stuff on bigger panels like the insides of their quarte...

I don't know how you feel about losing your heat and ac if you have it... All the stuff under the dash probly weighs close to a hundred pounds... Also you may want to consider losing the dash altogether, get some gauges and build a lightweight dash of some sort -that would prolly save 50 pounds or so

You're talking about shaving 1200 pounds off the car....

removing the drip rails completely MIGHT save you 4 pounds....

I don't even know where to begin
