As most of you know, my car is faaar from stock. I dont think putting an updated motor in a classic is a bad thing, I just dont think the 4.6 is the best choice. looks like a 2v in both, I dont think the 32v motor will fit? That looks pretty tight as it is. Both those installs look pretty good though, very nice job, clean looking installs especially the second one. Changing a thermostat is an easy job with a min. of coolent spilled on the pavement. I do not know what is the best temp limit for one. Perhaps someone may offer a good suggestion. Well in our 64 T-Bird I put in a 180/195* thermostat 14 years ago and never had an issue with it. It always runs below...
