Re: Wanted: 1964 15" wheels
Forgot to update this, but I scored 2 from a salvage almost a year ago, place in Arizona, in good shape.

Re: What do I have?
I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what I have by my VIN: 5Y85Z 13249 7 . Will this give me any indication about the Tonneau Cover, whether it came from the factory or the dealer? On the underneath there is over spray, and a number in crayon (looks wax), must be good. NightBird K...

Re: Chrome Valve Covers 390
I had Edelbrock chrome valve covers on our 64 for a short time while we had the original stamped Thunderbird covers painted. They fit good, no clearance issues, and they didn't leak. I used Fel-Pro rubber gaskets instead of their cork ones too. I bought them through Summit Racing, but other places l...

Re: Sequential Signals not on
You may have left off a ground wire when replacing the relay. There is at least one or two ground eyelets that attach to the relay bolts. Don't attach the grounds or leave them loose and the sequential system and/or the brake lights won't work.

Inner Cowl Wiper Cover Question-Color?
I could not find this in the 64-66 OFS. I know the inner cowl was painted flat black near the cowl screen vents, but what color is the cover plate that goes over the wiper motor supposed to be?

Re: Relay burned up
I always heard Bosch-type or Bosch, but now I've learned something new; there's a lot of good info on this thing. My Bird Nest harness and switch seem solid enough, but since the molded plug seems beyond reuse, I just decided to find the pigtail that matched the new relay. Trouble is wherever you g...

Re: Relay burned up
Well, here's my story. Our 64 Bird was one of the ones that slipped through the cracks and didn't get the brake light recall done back in the day. Taking a proactive approach, I ordered the repro. relay kit from the Bird Nest and installed it a little over 2 years ago. (When we first had the Bird in...

Re: '64 Hyperextended door hinge?
Our 64 had something similar happen 17 years ago. Best to find a couple good used hinges, but you'll likely need the A-Pillar pulled on a frame rack. Door may have some damage too. On our 64, we had the bumpers off. For some oddball reason, my uncle wanted the front park/turn lights back on so he co...

Re: Battery or Alternator?
Do the turn signals actually stop working or does just the clicker stop working? The turn indicator relay under the dash has been known to stop clicking when sitting at a stop, the signals are still working but the clicker stops clicking and the fender indicators stay on solid. Definitely make sure ...

Re: Sanderson Headers
A trip to the exhaust shop will solve that. They would have to make up a new H-pipe or modify your existing one.JETBRD66 wrote:Quick question, notice that the flange is a 3 bolt design, stock exhaust is 2 bolt, is there an adapter ? pr how did you hook up to the existing exhaust system ? Thanks,
