This is the mounting location I used for Don Marsh's 6K Rotunda tach - a great location for a non AC car. It was easy to cut the holes for the gauges with the correctly sized hole saws using a drill press.

Re: 62 tail light wiring mystery
I have the rear bumper off my 62 and am rebuilding all the lighting and wiring. It was a basket case of splices. I have purchased new tail light sockets that come with the rubber plug to attach to the bumper bracket. One questions though, the old wire that went thru the bumper bracket (also has a r...

Re: Dash is off air vent control bezel stuck
Okay, it's been a while. But I finally found something to help me unscrew the retainer and the piece on the inside of it but I still can't seem to get the knob off. I still think I'm doing something wrong. I've read your instructions carefully and multiple times but as far as getting the knob and c...

Yes that is normal. I have a bunch of them in the original Ford packaging somewhere.

Re: Engine wires.
The cowl clips are more complicated, even more so because they're made from spring steel. I have extras of the cowl clips if you decide you want them. I'm actually using the steel cowl clips on my late '63 CV because the original '64 style plastic clips had become brittle and most of them broke. IMG...

Re: Engine wires.
Karl, Here's some photos of the valve cover clips - these are originals in the photos - and are easy to make. Note the slightly bent corners near the bolt hole. Re: 62 power window overload relay
Thanks for the reply Jim. I can see most of the wiring and what I can't see I can feel, nothing but wire. Wondering if the breaker is built into the switches. I don't remember seeing any circuit breakers in the doors of my late 62 either. I'm pretty certain that there's no breaker in the window swi...

Re: Engine wires.
Thanks Jim the photo's and dimensions off both of the clips ( cowl and valve cover) would be appreciated. as all of mine are missing I will fabricate my own. Could you also send a photo and dimensions of the clip that is in the drivers side corner that holds the main loom to the cowl, that one is a...

Re: More parts ID needed.
Jim, Thanks so much! Can you post a picture of were the top frame corner "skids" goes. I found the rest. I am trying to clean up the pour restoration work that was done to this car. Dave The "skid" is mounted at the side of the front header with two small pan head sheet metal sc...

Re: 62 power window overload relay
Where are the overload relays for power window motors. Working on the front driver side. Will be working on the passenger side front next. I have removed the window motor from the regulator. Took the motor apart cleaned the shaft and bushing. Reassembled the motor, shaft seems to turn ok. Plugged i...

Re: Engine wires.
Karl: I can vouch for Jim's observation of the A/C wire being separate and having a fabric loom cover from the October '62-build cars I have, along with the fabric conduit over them at the valve covers for the oil/water/coil wire bundle. You may not be seeing the A/C compressor wire against the inb...

Re: Engine wires.
Thank you very much Jim, very much appreciated. With your information and going back to the Electrical assembly Manual I can now see the two separate looms. Although the Assembly manual doesn't show the brown wire. Going on what you say about the brown wire coming through a separate hole I am back ...
