Re: '65ish Spindles on a '61
Complete Bolt on. You need the spindle and lower control arm along with everything forward. You'll need wheels to clear the calipers.

High HP FE
I posted this in the regular forum but I probably should have posted it here since this would be considered a modification.

Re: After market wheels?
John, pic post whoring is no good now via photobucket. Hope you can get some images and put on postimg.org or similar! How is the Nova going? Graeme Hey Graeme! Sorry for the late response. Haven't been on much lately. I moved most of my pictures over to Imgur but if there is a thread that has a pi...

Been a while since I've been on here but I ran across this article and thought it would be useful for those trying to squeeze a few more HP out of their FE.

Re: After market wheels?
Late reply but I went with torque thrust stye wheels from Coys. Offset is good so no rubbing issues. I lowered the car a few inches FYI.

Re: Old Bird, New Build
I have an attachment for mine that I hook up the shop vac to and it sucks out the dust. I also took the glass out of mine and put 6-8 layers of clear drawer liner on it then reinstalled the glass. When the glass gets hard to see thru I simply reach in and pull off a layer like the tear offs for win...

Re: 62 front break conversion
I'm surprised John didn't suggest what he did with that Black beauty. It's the easiest conversion - '65-'66 spindles, rotors, hubs, shields. Direct bolt on. John also changed the lower control arms, but it's not necessary. That's because I'm lazy. I figured "Hmmmm....I gotta break this rusty n...

Re: excessive negative camber
Hello Nick, Welcome to the Forum! One thing you're going to want to make sure your shop has are the shims needed to align the car. They are ridiculously expensive for what they are so if you can find some prior to going to your alignment shop it will probably cost you less to have it aligned than if...

Re: Fuel not getting to the fuel pump
Hi all , just got my new bird 1962 over the weekend and all was good . Started well ( half a crank ) but fuel was low . Noticed when I purchased the car there was no fuel filter . Ordered a fuel pump with filter and it was a pretty easy install . But ! Before this happened my fuel was low in the ca...

Just an idea, but maybe use stickers for the hash marks in case you want to remove them later.allanmcnab wrote:thanks john, I am looking for a driver, not a concours d'elegance

Re: Cooling
Best way to calibrate your gauge is to get the vehicle up to operating temperature then use an infrared thermometer to check the temperature at the water outlet/thermostat housing. This^^^ I would monitor the temp with the infrared thermometer from cold start to operating temp and make hash marks t...
