Re: 56 Hard Top

Interesting. I notice you also don't have the full wheel covers or fender skirts. Was this an attempt to lower the initial price of the car? Are there any other accessories not installed such as P/S, P/B power windows or seat & auto transmission? Looks great though. Mine has almost every option ...

Re: Installation of seat back cover '56 TB

I marked the existing screw holes and a couple were not equally spaced, so I made a couple of new holes to get equal spacing. I started in the center top and worked each way for a few and then the bottom center to the ends as well. No problem.

This is what mine looked like with an aftermarket carb. Very similar to yours. Worked well.

Re: Tried adjusting door and made it worse

Screamin Finally took a minute to read through these posts. I've been down this path a couple of times, but not with a 55. It is difficult, and as other's have said, 2 people are a must. The next time you work on the door, open it about a foot. Then try to lift up on the outside door handle with a l...

Re: Speedway 54-56 Dic Brake Kit & Dual M/C?

Any concerns running front disc brakes without the booster? In my mind I would think the disc brakes would be such an improvement over the original drums that the booster assist wouldn’t be missed, but I really don’t want to have to stand on the pedal to get the ‘ol girl to stop if I can avoid it. ...

Re: Battery size for 55 @ 12 volts

Depending upon the battery height and clearance (or lack thereof) to the hood, it may be possible to place a piece of 1/4" plywood under the battery to let it sit above the raised edge. Measure carefully!

Re: Trunk bumper

Things like this are why it is important to specify the year of your car and post pictures. Many subtle changes occurred over the 3 years compounded with the possibility of a misunderstanding of the location verifies the importance of a picture.

Re: '56 TB Rear Bumper Muc Flap Alignment

Is this bracket correct? Only reason I ask is because the Parts and Illustrations Catalog show 2 bumper brackets pointing inboard and one outboard. I went through this with my 56, but it was several decades ago. Only remember I had no difficulty with the assembly and installing the rubber seal to th...
