You might want to get a Tracer. Basically it is like a "Toner and Wand" that telco guys use to trace a bad circuit. You clamp the "tone generator" ahead of where your electrical problem is. Then you take the wand and go to the other end to see if it picks up the tone. If it doesn...

I have the same issue with my '67. Mine is due to the shifter being a bit sloppy. If I hold the shift lever 'just right" they stay on, otherwise they also flash and go out. I have replaced my Neutral Safety Switch 3 times...they work for a while and eventually go sloppy again... I wish Ford wou...

I put the Monroe gas-charged Sensatracs on my '67 as well. huge difference in the ride and handling. It acutally handles too good now! The slow steering ratio now makes itself more pronounced. I would really like to switch it out for a variable ratio- Saginaw unit that Ford used in some Lincolns of ...

If you have opened that relay and things work properly, I would pursue replacing the relay. The door jamb switch is probably okay.

I would love to see pics of your install. I too need to upgrade the 'tunes' in my '67. I got a pair of front door panels from a '67 that had the Quadraphonic sound. The doors as you discovered, are already cut for the front speakers! You just need the new trim panels with built in speaker grills (al...

Actually, the front ends of the '66 and '67 were entirely different. The '66's have the "tower mounted" coil springs like a Mustang. The '67's - 71's (and later) had a full perimeter frame which allowed the upper and lower control arms to be mounted just like the Galaxy/LTD. In fact, the s...

I am also running 225's on my '67. Stock equivalent size is actually 215. Any special reason you need to go to a 235? The 225's are plenty big and should handle any weight the car can carry.

Hello PowerOptions. Not sure if I can help either- this is John- 67-71 Tech Advisor. Do you have the Ford vacuum manual? It's separate from the Shop Manual. Since the Swing-Away wheel is vacuum operated, you could have an issue there. I can't recall if my car has the 2-way door switch or not. It's p...

67 or 68's

Value wise, the '67 Hardtop (sans vinyl top) is the most valuable. But for rarity, the 4-doors are certainly the hardest to find. So it is a matter of personal choice. Find as nice of one as you can that will take the least amount of work. You don't want to put 25K into these. Even though I love the...
