Re: 1962 convertible top motor
You should have the fill plug at the 10-11 o'clock position so the pump has a good supply of oil but is not over filled.

Re: 1966 Power Seat Aft Movement Not Working
You may have the wire to the solenoid under the seat broken or disconnected or the coil burned out. Hard to work on the seat with it in the car likely would save you time and damaged hands to just take the 4 nuts off the hold down bolts that penetrate the floor pans under the seat.

Re: Vent Window Plastic Wind Deflector Removal
The plastic just pulls out of the S.S. channel, it is a very snug fit and will not be easy to get them out. Start at the top end and work your way down.

The Thunderbird parts suppliers all carry reproductions of the manuals they also have reproductions of the original Ford Assembly manuals for the body and trim plus the electrical manual. Would suggest that you add them to your order.

Re: Opinions on replacing window motors?
Issue may be that the black wire at the motor is not grounded properly or the motor is drawing to much current. The design of the wiring is a bit off normal automotive wiring, the black wire is the ground and it is actually a resistance wire which is intended to save the window motor if it should be...

Have no idea about Lubegard, all I have ever done is drain the steering system and refill with Type F steering fluid.

Re: WHICH POWER STEERING FLUID TO USE?
Back in the day the manuals listed Type A Transmission fluid it is now known as Type F. Type F is what you should be using in your Thunderbirds power steering and convertible top pumps, it was also the correct fluid for the Ford transmissions back in the day. You can use other transmission fluids if...

Re: What are these brackets for?
The brackets are part of the 64 front bumper and are placed on to the bumper so that the mounting tabs on the 64 grill line up with them. On the 65 the grill was revised and these brackets where deleted from the 65 model year bumpers, lots of the 65 models no longer have the bumpers that they where ...
