Was a good time but the OZBird has sold his Thunderbird.

Enjoy the history, was a huge thread!

Re: Radiator Hoses

I had the same thing on my 62', ended up putting extra washers to move the bolt back a little to clear the hose.

Re: Hydroboost Installation - 1962

No worries, did not replace anything, had no leaks or issues with stock pump.

If it was me I'd use your old pump too, if anything the later model would be better.

Re: The Disk Brake Diary.....Thread covering Disk swap on a '63

The key I think is to use the original booster bracket and attach the booster to it. I think it is covered in page 3 of this thread.

If you have already done that, maybe a photo if you can so we can figure out the issues.?

Re: Carb Replacement

Great Steve - I can see from your image that all your parts for the kickdown are in place but not connected. Your mechanic has left the short rod floating but you just need to bolt it back to the throttle rod closest to the firewall. It attaches with a nut an bolt which should be still intact. There...

Re: Carb Replacement

I am already missing the dashpot and down-shift connecting rod on mine - will those be necessary? If you cannot locate the rods etc for the downshift connection, I used a Lokar kit like this https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/lok-kd-2fmxht/overview/ - you may also need to get the carburettor br...

Re: Hood Bolts

Are these the ones that you need? You said you want UNF but this is not a problem, just change the bolts as well maybe.

Re: Header to Exhaust Connection

So far so good Geoff, I don't drive it daily but under hood heat seems to be quite a lot less now. That 90*degree angle looks OK, no discolouring in the exhaust pipe in that area.
