Alan, I used to do this professionally for truck tonneaus. Typically, the cover would be covered with some sort of paint protection, like foam sheeting. Any loose parts would be secured with hardware (bolts, clamps, etc). When in the truck, the cover would not be on the floor of the truck. Most deli...

Use the shortest wire from the kit to connect the bayonet end to the negative choke cap terminal marked (-). Ground the eyelet end to the carburetor. Do this under a screw on the vacuum secondary diaphragm cover or under a screw securing the choke housing to the main body. WARNING: Correct polarity...

The headers sound pretty bad with straight pipes. There is an annoying high pitch tone. It sounds real good with Flowmasters on the back.

I have generally done everything that Alan had pointed out plus a few extras. With this experience, I have noticed a few other performance issues that could be addressed to have a "noticeable" upgrade. 1. Transmission - the Cruise-o-matic is a weak performer when paired with a substantial ...

I know it may sound odd...but how are the brakes? I had a BIG vacuum leak coming from my brake booster. It was a bear to track down.

I put the FPA headers w/ ceramic coating on at the same time I did the rebuild. They still look perfect.

The only thing I did not like about the choice of going to headers was putting them in.......was a bear of a job.

Re: Alignment Problem

PS I also had a brake job done with new shoes all around, new wheel cylinders and a new brake line. The car now pulls to the left when applying the brakes so it's going back to the garage to be fixed. Is it possible these two problems are related? This issue can have a huge impact on how straight y...

A 100 amp Alternator should be ok. To be safe, you may want to consider changing the wire sizes to the battery, ignition, and regulator to lower gauge

"The Protector" brand is what a number of dealers are using on new cars. I think it has a much closer appearance to original compared to rubberized coating from a can. A few dealers in the northern IL area will certainly take your money to have it applied. The trick is to get to the contra...

Yeah either way, it's all expensive. I recall dropping $1600 on my wheels and tires. I am not a big fan of the raised white letters, like on the good years. It kinda reminds me of the 80's (which I also wasnt a fan of haha) IMO, keep what you have on there and save your money for what you really want.
