Re: 1960 352 Overheating issue.

I have a 1960 430cid bird with A/C. In Texas it has always ran HOT. If the cooling system has been flushed good, and you are using a 50/50 mixture of new coolant and distilled water, try a couple of bottles of a product called "Water Wetter". This stuff helps eliminate hot spots. I found i...

Re: Thurderbird 1960 - steering pumps when turned

There are different sizes of ports/seals inside these various years of control valves.

It is also imperative that the distance between the control valve shaft and the ram cylinder inner attachment mount is at exact service manual spec's for the 1958-1960 year model.

Good luck,

Depends on if you have the optional 430cid or the standard 352cid engine.

My 1960 is still all stock drums. I only add maybe 300 miles a year on her. I've been just fine in traffic & on the highway. One just has to plan ahead & be aware of other "idiot" drivers...

Re: Looking for 58-59-60 Conv, What Is Important?

'58 conv'ts are very limited, due to the production delay. These also have the rear coil spring suspension system which is a pain to restore. 1958-59's also didn't have the "full-power" conv't top. The brake system's were pretty much all the same. 1959-60 had the good old rear leaf-spring...

Try searching for a man named John Draxler. He is your best bet, just be sitting down when you are discussing pricing. ;-)

The 1959 T-Bird & new mid-year Fairlane Galaxie 500 cars shared the same "Sunray" full wheels covers. In 1960, the same body T-Bird carried over with this same wheel cover. Some early '60 T-Birds were rumored to have debuted with the all new body style '60 Fairlane 500 wheel covers to...

Should be a "T" shaped chrome handle, located down low, below the gauges. It would be seen in front of the drivers knee area.
