I am changing out cables (gnd./pos.switch) to starter solenoid and noticed previous owner had left pole/pos, right pole starter, reversed. I read somewhere polarity didn't matter but I want to be sure. Any comments? It works out better for pathways that way but I don't want to do any harm.

To Georgemii. Thanks. After better positioning and lighting and a longer breaker bar I was able to free the bolt and cable. On to the next hurdle !

I am having dificulty removing the bolt for the ground on 66 TB. Can't get a grip on the almost flat head (about the thickness of a $quarter) Any other good place to use for a ground that is more accessible ? Any thoughts or similar stories ?

Thanks. I've seen video of welding the shift lever, just don't know when I'll get to that, Lots of stuff needing attention, but most everything works.

I've read that trans jumps from Park to reverse when idling. Would it be better to shift to neutral w. parking brake on while idling ? Getting my Bird tomorrow and want to be prepared. Thanx
