Re: Brakes are not working
I would pull the m/c then adjust the rod so it is just touching the plunger, Not pushing on it when m/c is in place. That would give you a good starting point or even work. That's how I do the one that belongs on there and seems to work for me

Re: Water pump removal problem
I would not use a torch in that area, Gaskets, Fuel line, Etc there. Buy a new one first so you know what your dealing with. You can maybe put a hacksaw blade in hole and make a small slit, Then buy a very small chisel and maybe get it to fold in on itself. I would pull expansion tank and you should...

4100 Choke Tubes
So when the engine is running should you feel any vacuum on the top of the carb where the fresh air tube connects?

Re: Strange happening with my 66 top
I think I posted this web page before. A lot of trouble with tops not opening is also sloppy gear box and upper back panel limit switch out of adjustment. Not saying this is your problem, But easy to adjust with directions.

Re: ADJUSTING THE ROD IN THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER
I would first take hose off check valve to make sure your getting good vacuum there. Then I would make sure that check valve on booster is working for starters

Engine Paint
What brand engine paint is everyone using for their 66? I see Pat Wilson is selling Spruce good for about 250 Degrees . Don't seem to see the old corporate blue around. I have a can of dupli color Ford dark blue and that's good for about 500 degrees, But think its a later Ford color.

Re: 66 Thunderbird convertible roof issues
It may be difficult to make out colors in photos since many wires are tracer colors. A better bet may be the service manual and Top manual. They have schematics with wires numbered to indicate colors

Re: Amp gauge pegged on "C" when eng. running
Going by the length of connectors on back I would say that is the 66 amp meter. Earlier one has longer connectors on back so the insulator has room to slide over them and then the heavy wires put on with nuts. Here is a pic of both. Early one on left 66 on right. anyone could jump in if i'm not corr...

Re: How can I test the horn relay?
No horn relay make sure your horns are grounded and put juice to them and see if they work. You can have someone press horn button and test wire for voltage

Re: Water pump pulley question
Just for the heck of it while working on cars checked three pulleys. 66 w/o a/c single pulley much larger diameter has no holes...64 with 66 motor and a/c no holes...Double sheave pulley on bench C5AE-A no holes.
